Benefits:
Your Advocate: The SBE Council is your lobbying and advocacy center in Washington, D.C., which means you get the most effective and respected representation in the halls of Congress, within the Administration and Federal government regulatory agencies. SBE Council is YOUR VOICE in the legislative and policy making process.
Your Watchdog and Issue Specialist: Thousands of legislative and regulatory initiatives are proposed each and every year that impact small businesses and the entrepreneurial sector of our economy. SBE Council staff review hundreds of proposals, and work with our network on Capitol Hill, in the White House and within Federal Agencies to ensure that measures that are proposed and advanced encourage, rather then hinder, small business growth and entrepreneurial activity.
SBE Council Weekly Brief: This popular and widely sourced report will arrive each Friday in your email folder. The concise and action-packed update will keep you appraised of SBE Council's legislative and advocacy work, special reports and links to our regularly published Op-Eds or news articles where SBE Council staff or members are quoted. This weekly newsletter informs you not only of SBE Council action, but also includes member activities and the key issues and trends impacting your business.
Tools and Briefing Materials: The SBE Council will call on you to contact your Members of the U.S. House or Senate, or officials within the Administration and Federal agencies to help either advance or defeat proposals depending, of course, upon their impact on your small business and the climate for entrepreneurship in general. Join an issue Task Force or Advisory Panel, and play a more active role in the educating and advocating process. We will provide you with the opportunity, tools and path to help you make a difference.
Special Events: The SBE Council hosts events, conferences, Capitol Hill visits and educational forums throughout the year, enabling members to network with each other, and stay informed on trends and best practices that benefit your enterprise. (please note: these events may include registration or meal fees).
Member Surveys, Feedback & Involvement: SBE Council members are asked for their opinion and ideas on policy issues. Your personal stories are also very important for SBE Council research, educational and advocacy efforts. Therefore, SBE Council members are called upon to speak with the media, government officials and testify before the U.S. Congress as well as special Commissions and Task Forces. Small Business Economic Outlook: Each month, the SBE Council will publish the Small Business Economic Outlook which examines some of the latest economic trends and data, and what they mean for entrepreneurs, small businesses and the economy in general. While the SBE Council plans to produce Small Business Economic Outlook on a monthly basis, events may warrant supplementary editions. The Quarterly Briefing Book: Members will receive an exclusively prepared portfolio on SBE Council special reports, our progress on key initiatives, as well as our insider analysis of the direction of legislative and policy initiatives. 'The Book' will include a preview of our key reports, including, for example, the yearly Small Business Survival Index, published Op-eds, and media and outreach activity.
VIP Guest Pass: Invitation to all SBE Council activities as our guest, which includes special luncheons and exclusive events with leaders in business, media and the political world.
